These brown butter pumpkin spice blondies make any fall gathering so much sweeter! They feature a delicious combination of browned butter, pumpkin puree, pumpkin spice, chocolate chips, and a homemade toffee sauce.
Toffee Sauce:
Place 1/4 cup unsalted butter, 3/4 cup heavy whipping cream, and 1/2 cup brown sugar in a small saucepan. Mix on low heat until all ingredients are combined and the mixture starts to simmer. Remove from heat after five minutes and set aside to cool slightly.
Blondies:
1. Preheat your oven to 350F.
2. In a small saucepan, take 1/2 cup butter and brown it. Once your butter is browned, remove it from the heat and place it in a bowl. Add 1/2 cup light brown sugar and 1/3 cup granulated sugar and mix well. Add in your 2 eggs, 1/2 cup pumpkin puree, and 1 tsp vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
3. In a separate bowl, mix your dry ingredients: 1 3/4 cups all purpose flour, 1/2 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice, and 1/2 tsp salt. Once combined, add your dry mixture to your wet mixture and fold until all dry bits are incorporated.
4. Lastly, add in 1 cup chocolate chips. Transfer the batter to a lined 9x11 baking dish.
5. Top with 1/4 cup of the prepared toffee sauce. Swirl in your sauce and then bake on 350F for 35 minutes.
6. Let cool before enjoying!
